New Delhi: In response to Germany’s statement over Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate, the Ministry of External Affairs (EAM) on Saturday expressed “India’s strong protest.” A senior German diplomat was informed by the ministry that such statements are viewed in India as “undermining the independence of our judiciary.”

“Today, the German Deputy Chief of Mission in New Delhi was called upon to express India’s severe disapproval of the remarks made by their Foreign Office Spokesperson regarding our domestic matters. The MEA said in a statement, “We view such remarks as compromising the independence of our judiciary and meddling with our legal process.

India is a thriving democracy that upholds the rule of law. Law will proceed in this case according to its own rules, just like it does in every other democratic nation. It said, “Most of the biased assumptions made in this account are unfounded.

George Enzweiler, the German Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission, paid the ministry a visit on Saturday.

Enzweiler was observed departing the Ministry of External Affairs establishment located in the South Block of the capital city.

In relation to a money laundering investigation connected to the Delhi liquor policy case, Arvind Kejriwal was taken into custody on Thursday night.

The German Foreign Ministry spokesman responded to Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by stating that the presumption of innocence is a fundamental component of the rule of law and that it must be applied to him.

“We are aware that India is a democratic nation. We anticipate that in this instance, the norms pertaining to the judiciary’s independence and fundamental democratic values would also be implemented. limitations. The German Foreign Ministry spokesman had stated, “The presumption of innocence is a fundamental component of the rule of law and must apply to him.”

ED has remanded Arvind Kejriwal.

Arvind Kejriwal was sent to ED prison until March 28 on Friday. Kejriwal was arrested after he disregarded nine summonses from the Enforcement Directorate.

The Delhi chief minister will not step down from his position and would lead the government from behind bars, according to Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP. On the other hand, for moral reasons, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for Arvind Kejriwal’s immediate resignation.
